Herbert William Weekes
(English, 1856 -1909 )

Son of the famous sculptor and Royal Academician, Henry Weekes, Herbert specialised in painting domestic and farmyard animals. He often treated his subjects with humour, placing them in almost human situations.

Weekes exhibited his paintings at all major London venues from 1865 until his death in 1909. He exhibited 26 paintings at the Royal Academy from 1881- to 1884.
