Nicholson was a painter or portraits, still-lifes and landscapes. He studied at Bushey and in Paris at the Academie Julian. Represented in many public collections. Born at Newark-upon-Trent. Died at Blewbury, Berkshire. The father of the modern artist, Ben Nicholson, he is also known for his wood-block prints. |
