Otto Weber ARWS
(German, 1832 -1888 )

Weber was a painter of portraits, animals, genre and landscape. Born in Berlin; painted in Paris and Rome; exhibited frequently at the Paris Salon, where he won medals in 1864 and 1869; settled in London in 1872. He was a student of Steffeck in Berlin and Couture in Paris. Exhibited 1874-1888 at the Royal Academy, Old Watercolor Society, Grosvenor Gallery and elsewhere, titles at the Royal Academy including "H.H. Prince Christian Victor, Eldest Son of T.R.H. the Prince and Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein", 1874, "A Girl Spinning and Her Cow; North of Italy", 1876 and "Skye Terriers: Pet Dogs of H.M. the Queen", 1876. He painted for Queen Victoria, enjoyed a great reputation for his "Landscapes With Cattle".
