John Fitz Marshall
(English, 1859 -1932 )

John Fitz Marshall was a painter of landscapes, still life and animals, but best known for his dog paintings. It is thought that he is probably the son of John Marshall (Exh. RA 1840-1869), John Fitz exhibited some twenty paintings at The Royal Academy from 1883-1903, and two in 1913 and 1915, as well as exhibiting at Suffolk Street, Grosvenor Gallery, and the New Gallery and at other various venues. His dog paintings tend to be pet portraits of dogs in interiors, which have a soft, atmosphere quality.
