Henry Barraud |
(English, 1811 -1874 ) |
Henry Barraud, who was born in London, came from a family of artists, including his older brother, William, with whom he often collaborated, and shared a studio. Indeed, it has been suggested that William painted the animals, while Henry painted the figures.
Henry as nevertheless a very accomplished painter of animals, he a number of horse and dog portraits, many including human figures as well. Henry and William produced a book together, entitled Sketches of Figures and Animals, published by H. Graves and Co., ca. 1750. |
