George Henry Laporte
(English, 1802 -1873 )

From an artistic family, Laporte as a horse and animal painter. He exhibited his work in London from 1818 and some 43 of his works are illustrated in “The Sporting Magazine.” Working in London, he was appointed animal painter to the King of Hanover and the Duke of Cumberland.
