The son of a cotton broker, Armour was educated at St. Andrews, the Edinburgh School of Art and the Royal Scottish Academy from 1880-1888. He became a painter and illustrator and his work was was published in The Graphic, Pall Mall Budget, Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News, and Punch. He was an avid sportsman interested in hunting, shooting, fishing and all field sports. He also was a Lieutenant Colonel. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1884-1928. |
