Frank Paton |
(English, 1856 -1909 ) |
Paton worked in London and Gravesend, painting animals and genre in a tight, detailed style. His work is characterised by the inclusion of a myriad of details depicted with an almost photographic realism.
He painted in both oils and watercolour, with subject matter varying from straightforward portraits of dogs to hunting scenes of dogs after game. He exhibited some twenty works at the Royal Academy between 1878 and 1890 and 4 at Suffolk Street. |
