Edwin Loder
(English, 1827 -1885 )

Edwin Loder – son of famous artist James Loder – originally enlisted in the 62nd Regiment of Foot in 1846 at the age of 19, serving mainly in India.
After 20 years in the Forces, Edwin was discharged and returned to Bath, Somerset to set up a studio in Widcombe.
Edwin Loader’s portfolio of recorded works are dated between 1850 and 1885 and specialized in 19th century farm animal paintings of cattle and dogs as well as sporting paintings of hunters.
