Diana Thorne
(American, b.1895 )

Diana Thorne was born in Winnipeg but studied in Munich and Berlin caught in Europe during the War she escaped to England where she made her way as reporter, librarian and writer. In 1917 she came to the United States and her "Pan of Puck's Hill" was selected for the Fine Prints of the Year and the Fifty Best Prints of the Year. Sportswoman and ownber of dogs herself, Miss Thorne has received phenomental acclaim for her unique etchings which have been exhibited in the principal cities of this country. Her splendid work has won her membership in the Chicago Society of Etchers and the California Print Makers. She has been commissioned to execute portrait etchings of the most famous dogs in America, and her work now embraces the entire field of sport.
