Arthur James Stark
(English, 1831 -1902 )

The son and pupil of the eminent landscapist James, Arthur Stark studied at the Royal Academy Schools, under E. Bristow and later in 1874, with F.W. Keyl. He painted landscape in the slick, obvious Victorian manner. He also became skilful in painting figures and animals that he often inserted in his father's compositions. Arthur Stark exhibited 35 works at the Royal Academy.
