Original works of art

Born in Hampshire, Batt lived variously at Romsey, Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst. He painted small pictures, sometimes on panel, of domestic animals and birds. Batt's paintings of dogs, although often small, are usually highly expressive and beautifully finished. He exhibited four works at the Royal Academy between 1884 and 1889.
